Edgewood Tahoe Lodge Opens

On June 14, the Edgewood Tahoe Lodge opened to the public on a 250-acre property on the south shore of Lake Tahoe. The lodge has a variety of amenities in addition to its LEED design, including a 18-hole championship golf course, a 8,500-square-foot spa, luxury guest rooms, the Bistro, an Adventure Center and Camp Edgewood.

Ocean Place Resort and Spa Welcomes a New Executive Chef!

Guillermo Veloso has joined the team at Ocean Place Resort and Spa as their new executive chef. Veloso is no stranger to the region, being a New York City and northern Jersey native. 

Veloso has an extensive culinary career extending more than 35 years, but he has also spent time as an archaeologist and naturalist. He was the executive chef at Miami’s Yuca Restaurant and has also served as executive chef at Philadelphia’s Cuba Libre and the Please Touch Museum.

Kimpton Lorien Hotel & Spa in Old Town Alexandria, Va., has announced the appointment of Jennifer Montgomery to director of sales and marketing.

Montgomery brings nearly 30 years of hospitality experience. In her new role, she will oversee the hotel’s dedicated sales and catering team, providing leadership and support. The catering team is known for their ability to execute weddings, meetings and events of up to 125 guests.

SITE and MPI Announce Co-located Event in 2018

The Society for Incentive Travel Excellence and Meeting Professionals International have come together to offer a new, enhanced experience for global meetings and incentive professionals at the SITE + MPI Global Forum. The crossover between both industries and memberships sparked the idea for the event, taking place Jan. 12–14, 2018 at the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria in Italy—a hotel in the heart of Rome.

AlliedPRA has acquired one of the leading destination management firms, Destination Services Corporation This move will further expand AlliedPRA’s reach within the marketplace.

AlliedPRA generates more than $100 million in revenue between its 29 locations. This acquisition will allow them to hold the number one position in the market. DSC founder and president, Kathy Fort Carty will continue to serve in her position as well as join the AlliedPRA Board of Directors.

Le Meridien Chicago-Oakbrook Center Appoints General Manager

Paul E. Cardona has been appointed the new general manager of Le Meridien Chicago-Oakbrook Center. He brings more than 22 years of hotel experience to his latest position.
