Frontier Airlines opened a new crew base at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on May 23. The company expects the new base to employ up to 120 pilots and 220 flight attendants during its initial year of operation. In addition to maintenance and airport positions created by the new base, the airline is projected to generate over $78 million in local wages annually with forward-looking growth. Frontier has been the most rapidly expanding carrier at DFW since 2019.

To celebrate this milestone, the airline is presenting fares from DFW to four new nonstop destinations. These flights, which started service in May, include Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ), San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU), Cleveland (CLE), and New York LaGuardia (LGA). With the introduction of these new routes, Frontier will now serve a total of 21 destinations from DFW, making it the third largest carrier at the airport in terms of destinations served.

“We are thrilled to celebrate this historic occasion for Frontier and DFW,” says president and CEO of Frontier Airlines Barry Biffle in a prepared statement. “This new crew base will bring quality jobs to the DFW community and allow us to expand our affordable and convenient travel options to those across the region. This crew base demonstrates our strong commitment to DFW now and for many years to come.

Frontier Airlines is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, and operates with eco-friendly practices by flying fuel-efficient aircraft and furthering its fuel-efficiency ratings by employing weight-saving seat arrangements and baggage procedures. The company serves more than 100 destinations in the U.S., Latin America, and the Caribbean with fares as low as $39. This summer, the airline is offering an all-you-can-fly pass at a reduced price for unrestricted access to flights over a five-month period from May to September.
