As of Feb. 26, Mandy Spikes now serves as the group services coordinator for the Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau. Spikes brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She has worked at the Waco Convention & Visitors Bureau for nearly 17 years, most recently holding the position of convention sales and service manager. She has also served as the assistant city secretary for the City of Waco.

As the group services coordinator, Spikes will collaborate closely with meeting planner professionals to coordinate and manage the logistical aspects of large conventions. With a focus on service delivery and ensuring customer satisfaction, she will play a critical part in facilitating successful events.

Spikes holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications, with a minor in English, from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is also a certified Texas Destination Marketer, having received accreditation from the Texas Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus.

Dan Quandt, the director of conventions and tourism for the city of Waco, said in a prepared statement: “We are glad to have Mandy back in the conventions and tourism field. The experience she brings to the position will allow her to hit the ground running.”
