Housed within Fredericksburg’s lively downtown in south-central Texas, the Albert Hotel opened its doors last January and pays homage to Albert Keidel, a well-known Fredericksburg architect and collector. A little over a year since its debut, the independent property welcomed two new leadership professionals to helm its operations—Chris Jennings was appointed general manager, and Mike Reeber joined as director of sales and marketing, both effective in early March.

“Welcoming Chris and Mike onto the team comes at a meaningful time for Albert Hotel,” says Leigh Hitz, chief operations officer at New Waterloo (the hotel’s development company based in Austin), in a prepared statement. “After an incredible first year, we’re focused on growing in a way that stays true to our roots while continuing to raise the bar for hospitality in Fredericksburg. Chris’ leadership and heart for people, paired with Mike’s vision for storytelling and community connection, will help us welcome more guests, create meaningful experiences, and ensure Albert Hotel becomes a place folks return to again and again. We’re proud to have them helping shape what comes next.”

Jennings brings extensive hospitality experience to his role at Albert Hotel, including previous leadership roles at distinctive properties like The DonCeSar in St. Pete Beach, Florida; The Phoenician, A Luxury Collection Resort, Scottsdale, in Arizona; and the former St. Regis Princeville Resort in Princeville, Hawaii (now 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay). Reeber has more than a decade of hospitality know-how—previously, he served as director of sales and marketing at the Renaissance Austin Hotel, and he also is the founder of Roaming Fire, a live-fire catering company serving Texas and New Mexico.

In addition to 105 guest rooms, Albert Hotel has four dining outlets, two bars, an outdoor pool, a full-service spa, and indoor/outdoor event space. Groups will find seasonal Texas fare at The Wellhouse, quick bites at The Pharmacy, cocktails and beers at The Saloon, and classic barbecue plates at Junebug’s BBQ. Planners can choose from the hotel’s several gathering spaces, including a 3,600-square-foot event hall with an adjacent outdoor lawn, and Albertina House for intimate retreats and VIP groups, among others. Additional amenities include in-house catering, a dedicated on-staff team of event professionals to assist when needed, and customizable event furniture and dinnerware.
