The Mediterranean-inspired Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio welcomed three hospitality professionals to its sales and marketing team this summer. Erik Montemayor and Wendy Saurette join as senior sales managers and Amanda Johnson takes the role of express meetings manager.
Saurette comes to the hotel with 20 years of experience in the hospitality and senior living industries, most recently working as marketing and leasing director at Tradition Senior Living in Houston. She has also worked as director of sales and marketing at Senior Lifestyle in Houston and as senior sales manager at The Line Austin hotel. Other hotel stints include one as senior sales manager for the Radisson Hotel & Suites Austin Downtown and various sales management positions at several Omni Hotels & Resorts properties in Houston and Corpus Christi.
Montemayor’s most recent position was sales manager at the Hilton San Antonio Hill Country Hotel, where he also once served as guest service manager. Prior to these roles, he was sales manager for Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort in Boerne; and Staybridge Suites San Antonio Downtown Conv Ctr, An IHG Hotel. His very first hospitality position was as sales assistant at San Antonio’s Hilton Palacio del Rio.
Johnson hails from the small-town side of the industry, coming to Hotel Valencia Riverwalk from Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa in Johnson City, where she served as group sales manager. Before that, she held the role of event and sales coordinator at the winery and was also previously the event sales and marketing assistant at Elements Hospitality Group in Fredericksburg.
“Wendy, Erik, and Amanda are three extremely talented and accomplished hospitality sales and marketing professionals who are taking Hotel Valencia Riverwalk’s Sales and Marketing Department to the next level,” says Wendy Norris, Valencia Hotel Group’s vice president of sales, marketing, and revenue optimization, in a prepared statement. “Together, the three of them significantly expand our talent bench in the area of sales and marketing, with a particular emphasis on proactively growing our group sales outreach and bookings.”
