Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake Conroe | Houston, located on the shores of Lake Conroe in Montgomery just northwest of Houston, welcomed an administrative professional in September to assist in sales and marketing, and also promoted several of its sales team members in early October.
Samantha Smullen was promoted to catering sales manager, specializing in weddings and corporate events. Smullen first joined the resort in 2023 as an intern, graduating from Texas State University in San Marcos in 2024 ahead of her new appointment.
Jessica Thornbrough is now director of sales at the resort, previously serving as senior sales manager since joining the property in 2019 ahead of its opening in 2020. She brings more than 15 years of hospitality experience to the role, most recently holding senior catering positions at the now-closed La Torretta Lake Resort, which sat on the current grounds of the Margaritaville property.
Alexandra Trego was promoted from catering sales manager to group sales manager. She has been with the property since 2022 when she first joined as its sales, marketing, and membership administrative assistant. Trego brings several years of hospitality experience to the position, having held several hosting roles at restaurants and entertainment venues across California, New York, and Texas.
The resort welcomed Ava Tweto as its sales and marketing administrative assistant following her August graduation from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
“These promotions highlight the incredible talent and dedication of our sales team,” says Tom Faust, vice president of sales and marketing at the resort, in a prepared statement. “Jessica, Alexandra, Samantha, and Ava each bring unique strengths that will help us continue to deliver unforgettable experiences to our guests.”
