Reunion Tower Restaurant and Event Space Coming 2023

By Amy Durham

Event hosts can choose whether the view rotates or stays put.

The iconic Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas will soon welcome a new restaurant, Crown Block steakhouse. Reunion Tower restaurants have been renown over the years for their slowly rotating view of the city. However, owners and husband-wife business partners Kim Canteenwalla and Elizabeth Blau have chosen to keep the dining area stationary. The previous restaurant, Wolfgang Puck’s Five Sixty, spun 360 degrees, but it closed in 2020 during the pandemic.

The new restaurant will take up two floors of Reunion Tower, owned by Dallas-based Hunt Realty Investments. While the dining room on the popular 18th floor will remain stationary, private event hosts can choose to spin the event space below the restaurant on the 17th floor. The event space will accommodate 175 seated guests. Chef Canteenwalla’s menu will include steak, seafood, and plant-based cuisine with ingredients from regional farms, ranches, and the Gulf of Mexico.

“Kim and I discovered our love for Dallas and instantly felt welcome with the world-famous Texas hospitality,” said Elizabeth Blau, owner of Blau + Associates. She and Canteenwalla own several restaurants in the Las Vegas area, and Canteenwalla is the former chef for MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Crown Block steakhouse is expected to open in Reunion Tower in spring 2023.
