The Miyako Hybrid Hotel will be the first Japanese fusion hotel in Texas. Located near Toyota’s North America headquarters in Plano, the hotel will offer a homey environment for guests and a one-of-a-kind cultural experience for all meeting-goers. Gensler, the design firm on the project, has moved into the design development phase after delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The design will capture Japanese aesthetics, public spaces will do double duty as art galleries, and a Japanese garden will provide tranquil space to relax.
“The Miyako Hybrid Hotel will offer a hospitality experience unlike any other in North Texas,” says Alejandro Guerrero, principal and design director at Gensler’s Dallas office. “Overlooking a lakefront, this beautifully detailed hotel will highlight an artful blend of Japanese culture and Texas hospitality infused within the atmosphere, design, and amenities.” The hotel is expected to open in 2027.
