Marla Roe, executive director of the Frisco Convention & Visitors Bureau, recently earned the distinction of Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) from the Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI).
Defined as the highest educational achievement in the destination marketing industry, the senior level development program centers on leadership, vision, productivity and the use of business strategies. To earn the certification, applicants must complete five courses and a final exam during a four-year period.
Roe holds two other professional accreditations including the Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) and Institute for Organization Management (IOM) through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The CDME graduation ceremony was held July 15 in Orlando, Fla. at the DMAI’s 99th Annual Convention.
