The Driskill welcomes Scott Mason as General Manager of the recent addition to the Hyatt portfolio in Austin.
Mason is a 15-year Hyatt veteran and comes to his new position after serving as General Manager for the AAA Four-Diamond Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center. Previously, he spent clost to five years as the General Manager of Park Hyatt Beaver Creek and led the Park Hyatt Chicago and the Stanhope Park Hyatt New York. Mason began his career with Hyatt as Executive Housekeeper for the Grand Hyatt New York in 1998.
“I am thrilled to bring my XX years of hospitality experience and the Hyatt culture to this historic hotel,” said Mason. “I look forward to being part of the Hyatt team that further enhances The Driskill Hotel’s stellar reputation and becoming a good steward of the hotel.”
The Driskill was aquired by Hyatt in March 2013 and will continue to be marketed as The Driskill under the Hyatt Hotels & Resorts umbrella. The property will also undergo a two-year, approximiately $8 million renovation project to preserve the hotel originally built in 1886. The Driskill has been a host to many inaugural balls and important societal events throughout its storied past.
