Visit Plano received a gold award in the HSMAI Adrian Awards competition for their digital marketing campaign, “Photo Walk.” For the “Photo Walk,” Visit Plano invited six bloggers in the travel and entertainment world to explore and experience Plano with their cameras.
Award-winning photographer Nan Palmero provided instruction to the bloggers who competed for prizes and ended up producing more than 700 photos of the Plano area. These photos are intended to increase social media interaction and help Visit Plano market the area.
“The Photo Walk was a huge success in attracting new travel and entertainment journalists to our city to promote Plano’s many exciting experiences,” said Mark Thompson, director of Visit Plano. “To be recognized with the Gold Adrian Award by our peers in the tourism industry is a great honor.”
The campaign was developed by The Atkins Group advertising agency. It was judged by top executives along with the more than 1,200 entries to the Adrian Awards competition from around the world.
