Woot! We’ve been waiting for Sam Moon to accessorize a hotel—and now it’s here

The Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel recently welcomed its first guests—and we’ve been waiting for this day! It’s been exciting to see the Plano Legacy area grow over the last few years, and we especially love its walkable after-work vibe.

The 15-story Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy is near the intersection of the Dallas North Tollway and State Highway 121 in Plano amidst the $3 billion Legacy West mixed-use development. The Renaissance property is the anchor hotel for the pedestrian friendly 250-acre Legacy West area which features retail, dining, residential and offices including the US headquarters for JC Penny and Frito Lay, the regional headquarters of FedEx and the North American headquarters of Toyota.

The handbag and accessory giant, Sam Moon Group (be still my heart!) is the owner and developer of the property, which will be operated by Renaissance Hotels. The project represents the Sam Moon Group’s first venture in the hospitality industry which has long been a dream of company founder David Moon. Within the Marriott portfolio, the Renaissance brand offers a departure from the norm for business guests, providing business travelers with upscale services, amenities and the brand’s “business unusual” philosophy.

Guests of the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel will experience an eclectic ‘West meets Zen’ theme throughout the property. A curated art collection including ceramics, paintings, prints, sculptures and textiles serves as the inspiration for the interior of the property. Large and open public spaces provide sight lines reminiscent of the Texas landscape. While the public areas are designed to invigorate guests, rooms are intended to soothe with a subdued color pallet, crisp lines and modern minimalist furnishings. The contemporary hotel is designed by HKS architects, headquartered in Dallas. The interiors have been created by Dallas-based Looney & Associates.

The 304-guest-room hotel offers 16 suites and provides event planners with approximately 30,000 square feet of flexible event space in 19 different rooms. Property venues include the 3,375-square-foot outdoor Legacy Terrace which can accommodate up to 300 guests, the Shanghai Boardroom which seats up to 12 people, the 5,115-square-foot Windrose Ballroom that can hold up to 540 people, and the Legacy Grand Ballroom at more than 14,900 square feet which can host up to 1,584 guests. All meeting space at the hotel is located on one level and is accessible from the hotel parking garage.

Dining options at the hotel include the Texas Tea House and the Whiskey Moon Bar in the lobby, an outdoor grill and bar serving the pool deck and the Oma restaurant serving Asian-fusion cuisine three meals a day. Hotel amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi in the lobby and public areas, a fitness center, an outdoor pool, and a concierge floor. The Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel is located roughly 20 miles northeast of both the Dallas/Fort Worth International and Dallas Love Field Airports.

“We are thrilled to join the Sam Moon Group in bringing the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel to the North Texas area,” says Bob Bula, general manager of the hotel. “The Moon family has designed and built a world-class project that will set the new standard of luxury for Plano and the surrounding communities. The hotel has added hundreds of jobs and other economic benefits to Plano along with offering a relaxing yet vibrant choice for business and leisure travelers alike.”
