Enchanted Rock State Natural Area near Fredericksburg in the Texas Hill Country is a massive pink granite dome attractive for attendee side trips from Austin or San Antonio. Your gathering can enjoy hiking, backpacking, picnicking, bird-watching, geocaching, and camping before taking in the breathtaking scenery from the top of the granite rock formation. The dome climb is an easy hike that can be completed in about 30 minutes, depending on your group’s fitness level. The gates open at 6:30 a.m. daily for the early risers, who can take in the sunrise. the gates close at 8 p.m. and stay until 10 p.m. for stargazing.
