The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa is preparing to unveil a fresh chapter in its storied legacy. Starting early this year, the iconic Houston, Texas, destination will embark on a phased, 10-month transformation of its conference center and event spaces, bringing new life to gatherings of all sizes.
Situated on a lush 27-acre wooded retreat in the heart of Houston, The Houstonian’s redesigned spaces will combine timeless Texas charm with modern sophistication. The new look will feature muted tones of taupe, gray, and blue, accented by organic textures, elevated finishes, and delicate floral motifs. The design’s neutrality offers endless flexibility, making it effortless for meeting planners to create personalized and vibrant event environments, whether hosting corporate functions, retreats, or weddings.
Elegant New Spaces
Key features of the refresh include two new executive meeting spaces, the Mahogany and Teak rooms. These spaces will feature state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, a refined boardroom, and an adjoining library with custom millwork and built-in credenzas. Rich dark gray, taupe, and blue accents add elegance, while flexible layouts allow the spaces to transform seamlessly into hospitality suites or private meeting venues.
In addition, a new foyer outside the Aspen Room will be enhanced with stunning ginkgo-branch chandeliers and abundant natural light. This sophisticated area will provide an inviting space for pre-event gatherings or receptions, adding another layer of warmth to the hotel’s offerings.
Thoughtful Design, Unmatched Hospitality
“Our focus groups with planners and vendors emphasized the need for versatile, inspiring spaces that reflect The Houstonian’s distinctive style,” says Larissa Lachniet, director of sales and catering operations. “Combined with our chef-driven restaurants, renowned fitness club, and award-winning spa, The Houstonian remains unmatched as a destination for meetings and events.”

And with a tenured staff that consistently provides the highest levels of courtesy and execution, our team truly elevates every event.”
While renovations unfold, The Houstonian’s commitment to thoughtful hospitality will remain uninterrupted.
