AAA wrapped up their undercover inspections of hotels and restaurants through North America. They then rated them on a scale of One to Five Diamonds, they have just announced the highest-rated properties.
AEG Live, a live music company has announced that it has acquired a stake in The Bowery Presents—a concert promotion company. This new partnership will expand both companies’ presence along the East Coast by adding more venues and being the premier promoter in New York City.

Columbia Hospitality, a hospitality management company based in Seattle, has launched Work Hard, Play Hard, a wellness program aimed to improve meetings. The program will be offered at Bell Harbor International Conference Center, Kitsap Conference Center and Talaris Conference Center.
The program is aimed to improve participants’ health and happiness through customizable options. Offerings range from creative stations to interactive fitness activities. The program is a bit different for each conference center.
Downtown Wayzata is getting a new wedding venue, The Hotel Landing, set to open in summer 2017. It will be the first hotel on the shoreline of Lake Minnetonka in more than 50 years.
For wedding parties, the hotel has a 2,710-square-foot ballroom, a bridal sweet, a Nordic spa, a two-story restaurant and 92 guest rooms. The hotel is in the heart of downtown and within walking distances of countless restaurants and shops.

A select group of talented pastry chefs will compete for Pastry Chef of the Year at Paris Gourmet’s U.S. Pastry Competition held during the International Restaurant & Foodservice show of New York. The event will be held on March 5 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.
The competition’s theme this year is Modern Masters Come to Chocolate. The chefs have three hours to arrange their exhibit and are only allowed one assistant. The judges will all be board members of the Societe Culinaire Philanthropique, one of the world’s oldest chef associations.

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Virginia has announced the next part of its renovation, which will enhance the inn’s exteriors as well as its food and beverage menu. This includes a new restaurant, a reflection pool and private event spaces. The inn halted reservations on Jan. 22 but is set to reopen in April 2017.
Provenance Hotels is opening a new hotel, Dossier, in downtown Portland. The 205-room hotel is slated to open in the summer of 2017 and will be located at SW Park Ave. and SW Alder St. The property will have an intimate feel and provide a place of refuge for busy travelers.
