The 2016 MarCom Awards, a creative competition that recognizes marketing and communication achievements, have given four different awards to VISIT Milwaukee for their outstanding work.

The awards include the Platinum Award for their Meet Milwaukee Video, the Gold Award for their 2016 Official Visitors Guide, The Gold Award for their DearMKE Instagram Site, and an Honorable Mention for their International Brochures.

The Association of Marketing & Communications is responsible for the MarCom Awards. More than 17 countries participate, resulting in 6,500-plus entries, which include nonprofits, communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms and more.

The Platinum Award is the highest title, given to  organizations that produce the highest quality, creativity and resourcefulness. Gold Awards are given to those who exceed the industry’s standards.

“Our VISIT Milwaukee team strives for excellence in promoting Milwaukee as a top destination,” says Megan Gaus Suardini, vice president of marketing and communications at VISIT Milwaukee. “The MarCom Awards inspire us to continue to work towards being the best at what we do to position Milwaukee nationally and internationally.”

On September 1, over 1,500 businesses across the country illuminated their buildings with red lights to draw attention to the devastation that the live events and performance art industries have faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a survey commissioned by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), frequent travelers feel safer when hotels adhere to AHLA's Stay Safe guidelines, which detail cleaning protocols for hotels during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through responses to bi-weekly surveys, Global Business Travel Association members have indicated that domestic busines travel is ramping up after months of struggle.
