Located in the picturesque Lake Geneva area of southeastern Wisconsin, a haven for leisure and business travelers from the Chicagoland area, Lake Lawn Resort sits on Delavan Lake and features 271 guest rooms. The resort is currently undergoing the next stage of a renovation project that touches on 222 guest rooms and public spaces, slated to be completed early this summer. Its central positioning between Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison also makes it an easy getaway for corporate summer retreats.
The first phase of the refresh has already been completed in two of the resort’s lodging buildings “with a focus on incorporating the beauty and tranquility of lakeside living,” describes Terri Bain, director of sales at Lake Lawn. “In 2022, the resort fully renovated and rebranded the main restaurant, 1878 on the Lake, which included the restoration of the dining room’s wooden beams and columns, as well as the original wood floors,” she continues. “In 2021, Lake Lawn completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of the conference center space and public areas.”
In addition to these upgrades, visitors will find an array of amenities to experience during free time between meetings. Tee up at Lake Lawn’s Majestic Oaks Golf Course, rejuvenate at the award-winning Calladora Spa, or get on the water via the 261-slip marina and its motorized and non-motorized watersports equipment rentals. “Our event staff is happy to partner with our group planners to create fun and engaging group activities,” Bain adds.
A standout option for planners to consider when gathering at Lake Lawn is the Lake Lawn Queen, a two-level, 76-foot cruise boat available for private group charters and intimate events. The main level and cabin seating capacity can host up to 78 attendees, and charter lengths are available at 1 1/2-hour, two-hour, and three-hour slots. Audiovisual equipment is available, as is catering through Lake Lawn Catering by request.
Back on dry land, the Lake Lawn Room is 4,635 square feet in size and features vaulted ceilings and windows overlooking Delavan Lake. This space can accommodate up to 225 people. Additional spaces for meetings at the resort include the 5,170-square-foot Geneva Ballroom, the 2,964-square-foot Wisconsin Room, the 2,950-square-foot Geneva Club, the outdoor Lakefront Lawn, and more.
In addition to the primary 1878 on the Lake restaurant, visitors can grab a coffee and small treats at the Isle of Capri cafe, pub-style fare and craft beer at The Lookout Bar & Eatery, or course-side cuisine at the Clubhouse Bar & Grill at Majestic Oaks Golf Course.
“What truly sets Lake Lawn Resort apart is its approachable environment that strikes the perfect balance between work and leisure,” says Bain. “After a day of meetings or workshops, attendees can unwind with a round of golf on the resort’s lakeside golf courses, indulge in a rejuvenating spa treatment, or enjoy a sunset cruise. With multiple dining options featuring locally sourced ingredients and customizable catering menus, we can cater to every request.”
