Hello readers, The ribbon has been cut and the doors are now open at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chicago North Shore in Niles. The four-story hotel is the latest property in the Lakhani Hospitality portfolio; the family-owned business also owns and operates several locations in the Chicagoland area, including the Holiday Inn Chicago North Shore in Skokie, the Holiday Inn Chicago O’Hare in Chicago and the Holiday Inn Chicago Oak Brook.
The site of the latest location was formerly a Traveler’s Inn; Lakhani did a complete overhaul of the building with a brand-new construction project that is a first of its kind for the village of Niles. Before the new Holiday Inn Express & Suites, the town had never had a business-class hotel.
“Before breaking ground in 2015, we asked a lot of business owners in the area for their thoughts,” Karim Lakhani, one of the original founders, said in a supplied statement. “They agreed that a hotel of this caliber was long overdue in Niles.”
The Mayor of Niles, Andrew Przybylo, shared Lakhani’s thoughts during the recent ribbon cutting ceremony. “I’ve been living in Niles since 1967, and I’ve passed this corner many times. I’ve seen it at its best and I’ve seen it at its worst, and now, I’m seeing it at its ‘bestest.’”
The result is a modern property that offers 100 guest rooms, including 17 suites. Meetings are also a strong focus with 1,500 square feet of dedicated, flexible space with state-of-the-art A/V and a full-service business center. Other added amenities include complimentary parking and a hot breakfast buffet as well as a 24-hour fitness center. Business travelers will also benefit from the hotel’s central location, between O’Hare International Airport and downtown Chicago.
The property is now accepting reservations. Also look for a feature on Lakhani Hospitality in the upcoming summer issue of ILM+E.
Happy Planning!
