The newly opened Hampton Inn & Suites Chicago Medical District UIC appointed Marlena Karwowski to serve the 135-guest room property as general manager. A native of Skaryszew, Poland, Karwowski’s passion for hospitality is unparalleled and has been honed over two decades in the industry, serving in key roles including assistant reservations manager at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago; reservations communications manager at Hyatt Regency Chicago; director of sales at Hyatt House Evanston; director of sales at Hilton Garden Inn Evanston; task force manager of sales at Hyatt Place Iowa City, Iowa; task force manager of sales at Hyatt Place Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and general manager of The Forester Hotel in Lake Forest.
A seasoned industry expert, Karwowski’s passion for providing an unmatched experience to guests shines through her work. Throughout her career, Karwowski’s dedication has been acknowledged through many notable awards, including “Employee of the Year” by Hyatt Regency McCormick Place and “Outstanding Assistant General Manager” by the Hyatt House Evanston. Karwowski will bring her infectious warmth and vast experience to her role at the new Chicago property as she fulfills her responsibility to foster connections within the Illinois Medical District community and beyond, working to make a positive and lasting impact while doing so.
A mother to daughter Victoria, Karwowski volunteers with and supports Ronald McDonald House Charities and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her free time. Karwowski also enjoys many creative outlets including Latin dancing, cooking, traveling, and gardening. Karwowski will harness her passion and zest for life to create a most memorable experience for every guest.
