
The publication La Liste ranked The Peninsula Chicago, a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond hotel since its opening in 2001, the No. 1 hotel in the world last summer, in a tie with nine other properties. The dramatic, opulent hotel on Michigan Avenue features 339 guest rooms and 11 indoor meeting rooms that range from expansive to intimate, including two ballrooms with capacity of up to 550 people for a cocktail reception and windows with views of the Magnificent Mile. The Terrace restaurant, with an outdoor patio suitable for up to 450 attendees, is influenced by Shanghai, China, in the 1930s. The restaurant also has a private dining room seating up to 30.
