Here are two recent staff hires of interest to the meetings and events industry.
Denise Schultz has been appointed senior director of sales and marketing for Grand View Lodge, Spa and Golf Resort in Nisswa. With more than 20 years of hospitality experience, Schultz most recently served as director of group sales for HEI Hotels and Resorts, leading sales strategy for The Whitley and The Gwen, two Luxury Collection Hotels. Previously, she held posts with Kimpton Hotels and Resorts in Chicago as an area director of sales and marketing and opening director of sales and marketing at Kimpton Hotel Palomar Chicago. Throughout her career, she held numerous leadership roles with Radisson Plaza Hotel in Minneapolis, Minn. and Wyndham Hotels and Resorts. Schultz holds a degree in hospitality and tourism from University of Wisconsin–Stout.
William Coyle is the property’s new executive chef, overseeing banquet operations and seven dining venues including CHAR Craft Steaks, Cru Restaurant and Wine Bar, Northwoods Pub, On the Rocks, Freddy’s Sports Grill, Preserve Pub, Tanque Verde Cantina and Grand Breakfast. He also brings more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality and restaurant industries, with his latest role as executive chef at Mancy’s Steak House in Toledo, Ohio. Prior to that, he held several posts within Hollywood Casinom, including assistant executive chef where he oversaw operations for multiple outlets, and chef positions at Ameristar Casino in Missouri, Francisco Grande Golf Resort and Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa in Arizona, and more.
