On Feb. 19, the PGA Tour and Omni Hotels & Resorts announced an extension of their Official Marketing Partnership, which designates Omni as the official hotel and resort of the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions, through 2028. The collaboration first began in 2018 and has resulted in the donation of more than 1 million meals to families in need by Omni through its Say Goodnight to Hunger program–which provides four meals for every birdie-or-better made during each PGA Tour event.
“Omni Hotels & Resorts is proud to continue our partnership with the PGA Tour, we’re excited to showcase our genuine hospitality across 50 unique destinations,” says Dan Surette, chief sales officer at Omni, in a prepared statement. “Our growing relationship with professional golf will bring more visibility to our commitment to the game and continued evolution of our premier golf resorts across North America.”
The meals are donated by Omni through the local Feeding America member food bank in each tournament’s home city in the U.S. The program has already seen more than 45,000 meals contributed during the 2024 FedEx Cup season, which began first thing in January leading up to the three-day championship event Aug. 29-Sept. 1.
“We are delighted to continue our relationship with Omni Hotels & Resorts, whose partnership has provided tangible benefits to both the communities in which we play as well as to our PGA Tour players and their families,” says Brian Oliver, executive vice president of corporate partnerships for PGA Tour, in a prepared statement. “In 2018, the PGA Tour became Omni’s first major leaguewide sponsorship, and we are proud to continue our support of their incredible Say Goodnight to Hunger initiative.”
Omni has several venues with championship golf courses, including the new Omni PGA Frisco Resort in Texas spanning 660 acres and set to host 26 PGA of America championships over the next 12 years. For event planners, it features 127,000 square feet of available function space and will stun the golf lovers in any group. Another top option for planners to consider is the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California, which will host the Men’s and Women’s Division 1 NCAA Golf Championships for the next three years on its famed Champions Course. It features 110,000 square feet of event space, and planners can arrange group golf time on either of its two courses.
