After celebrating its third anniversary of providing low cost services from London Gatwick, Norwegian Air, along with Visit Austin and Austin Bergstrom International Airport, revealed Austin as a new U.S. route from London Gatwick Airport. Norwegian Air will begin providing the eight-hour flight to Austin beginning March 27, 2018, with one way tickets at £239 and premium tickets at £579. The flight will take off from Barbara Jordan Terminal at 4:20 p.m., landing in London at 7:20 a.m. This flight will be available year round, with three-weekly service in a new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The aircraft will have inflight entertainment, complimentary meal service, airport lounge access, generous baggage allowance, in a spacious economy cabin with more legroom.
“The new service from Gatwick Airport will provide opportunity for additional visitors connecting from throughout the world and from the U.K.,” says Tom Noonan, president and CEO of Visit Austin. “With year over year increases in visitors from the U.K. and beyond, we anticipate this flight will be very successful. The addition of this route is also a direct reflection of how our city continues to evolve as a premier destination for travelers.”
