President and CEO of Visit Austin, Tom Noonan, has been nominated to serve on the Board of Directors for both the American Society of Association Executives and Destinations International. The nominations are in addition to his current service on the U.S. Travel Association Board of Directors. Noonan has also served on the board for the Association Forum.
ASAE is comprised of both organizations and association professionals, and is considered the center for association leadership. Noonan will be the only member of the board that is a member of a destination marketing organization. DI (formerly Destinations Marketing Association International), is an essential resource for destination marketing. It is a global trade association that acts as a resource for DMOs, conventions and visitors bureaus, and tourism boards.
“It is a special honor to be given the opportunity to serve on the ASAE Board of Directors in one of the few supplier slots,” says Noonan. “Personally, it is especially sweet having the opportunity to serve on the same industry board that my father has previously served during his long association management career. I am grateful to be nominated to both ASAE and DI Boards and I look forward to working with my colleagues and with these associations as they are both important to our industry.”
