Blossom Hotel Announces New Leadership

Celebrating one year after opening, the luxury hotel expands the management team.

Blossom Hotel, a luxury destination for both business and leisure travelers in Houston, has proudly introduced three new leaders to its team. Commemorating its one-year anniversary since its grand opening in 2022, the hotel is part of Crescent Hotels & Resorts’ esteemed Latitudes: Lifestyle by Crescent collection. The 16-story, 267-room property is located near the nation’s largest medical and research community at Texas Medical Center, as well as Hermann Park and the NRG Park sports, entertainment, and convention complex. Amenities include 9,000 square feet of meeting and event space, a rooftop pool, and a state-of-the-art Peleton fitness studio.

Ray Guyton, the hotel’s new director of sales & marketing, boasts over three decades in the travel and hospitality industry. In his role, Guyton oversees a seasoned sales team and manages media relations, community engagement, and social media functions for the hotel. Guyton has served as director of sales & marketing with IHG Hotels and Resorts, as well as for the Houston Marriott Sugar Land. He has also held director-level positions with the Valencia Hotel Group. He began his career in travel sales and has over a decade of experience with American Airlines. Guyton pursued his education at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Arkansas State University.

Nia Slater, the hotel’s newly appointed assistant director of sales, brings a decade of hospitality experience to her role. Her responsibilities include managing partnerships, community engagement, customer relations, and events. Slater has held various sales leadership roles for properties such as the Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel & Executive Meeting Center, Hyatt Regency Miami, Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country, Thompson Chicago, Grand Hotel Mackinac Island Michigan, The Royal Sonesta New Orleans, Signia by Hilton San Jose, and Hilton San Jose. Slater attended Lone Star College in Houston and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Houston.

Ryan Gullion, the newly appointed general manager, brings over 20 years of expertise in hospitality leadership. Before joining Crescent Hotels & Resorts and the Blossom Hotel Houston team, Gullion served as the general manager of the renowned Hotel Alessandra (now The Laura Hotel), part of the Valencia Hotel Group. Prior to that, Gullion spent eight years as the general manager for the stylish and upscale Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE (now The Moran) under the Valencia Hotel Group. Additionally, Gullion has experience as the general manager of downtown Houston’s historic The Lancaster Hotel. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
