Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin, in the heart of Austin’s downtown, debuted two new restaurant concepts in September: The Tradition–An American Kitchen and Heydey Social Club. Both restaurants and their menus will be overseen by Executive Chef Iain Reddick, who joined the Hyatt Centric team this spring.
The Tradition–An American Kitchen, which will serve as the hotel’s flagship restaurant, is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Visitors can experience a menu containing playful twists on breakfast classics with items such as the Brisket Omelet and Horchata Overnight Oats (oatmeal with chia, cinnamon, almonds, and horchata foam), as well as comforting dishes such as braised short ribs and rotisserie chicken.
Up on the hotel’s eighth floor, the Heydey Social Club provides a rooftop respite for guests to hang out, unwind, and take in sweeping views of the Austin skyline. The European-inspired cocktail bar has both seasonal and aperitif-style drinks on its menu alongside small bites. Crafted cocktail options include the Afternoon in Capri with Lillet Blanc, strawberry, and prosecco; and the Cin Cin, a refreshing combination of gin, Campari, grapefruit, lemon, and soda. Available snacks at the bar include items such as whipped herb ricotta served with focaccia, as well as crab arancini.
Both restaurants will offer a daily happy hour; The Tradition–An American Kitchen will host one from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., while Heydey Social Club will host a shorter one from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. All-day happy hour will be available at Heydey on Mondays. Every Thursday evening, Heydey Social Club will put on a Golden Hour event where guests can enjoy live music.
Eight private event spaces are available for booking at Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin, including the rooftop Heydey Social Club. Venues at the hotel range in capacity from six to 90 people, the largest being The Lounge on 8, which adjoins to the rooftop bar.
