Experience Valencia Hotel Group’s Unique Spaces: Different by Design.

By M+E Staff

The Valencia Hotel Group is known for designing spaces that are not only located in desirable destinations but have become desirable destinations in and of themselves. Those spaces are augmented by the group’s renowned service culture that comes from having a well-trained, well-seasoned team of associates who are committed to the company’s emphasis on high-touch service. It’s an ambience they call “hospitality with personality,” and encourages groups to relax and recharge just beyond their hotel rooms after a day spent collaborating with colleagues.

“Our hotels are intentionally designed to draw people out of their rooms. The common areas are incredibly inviting,” says Nancy Alonzo, corporate director of sales for Valencia. “But more importantly, we believe, are our people—many of whom have been here for decades and truly take the time to focus on the ‘small’ things that add up to a huge difference for our guests.”

As the weather warms, the properties’ outdoor spaces are especially welcoming. “You can meet in the ballroom and afterwards go for a boat ride or take advantage of our courtyard lawn games for some friendly competition. We offer that perfect blend of professional and social,” says Alonzo. “Our properties also are in very pedestrian-friendly locales, so you don’t need a car. We call them ‘great spaces in great places.’ You can valet your car upon arrival and never have to leave the hotel or the neighborhood.”

In Texas, Valencia Hotel Group’s portfolio includes its luxury hotel collection Hotel Valencia Riverwalk in San Antonio and The George in College Station. Its urban-retreat court collection features expansive, acres-wide courtyards and includes Texican Court in Irving, Lone Star Court in Austin, Cavalry Court in Bryan-College Station and Cotton Court in Lubbock. Each hotel has a personality all its own that is a nod to the city or community in which it’s located

The Hotel Valencia Riverwalk is located on the tranquil side of the famed River Walk, placing meeting groups just a stroll to the destination’s most popular shops, nightlife and restaurants, but set just enough apart from the din for true relaxation. Offering 7,000 square feet of meeting and event space, the hotel also has intimate gathering spaces, such as its library, which evokes the elegant, yet lived-in feel of a cigar bar lounge at an old-school club.

The George is set in College Station’s vibrant Century Square and features 162 rooms and 5,200-plus square feet of meeting space plus a 400-square-foot terrace. Its open-concept lobby and adjacent public spaces not only offer diverse seating, work, and nibbling areas (including long communal tables, leather Chesterfield sofas and an extra-long banquette), but also showcase unique artistic and playful elements, such as a “wandering flock” of sheep statues and an oversized abacus.

Lone Star Court boasts a retro-ranch, relaxed vibe and features connected communal spaces and ranch house breezeways that flow between rooms so that guests can work, eat, or sip in the setting that fits their mood. The hotel offers 2,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, 1,600 square feet of covered pavilion space and an 1,800-square-foot open-air lawn. Be sure to ask for its glamping amenities, including s’mores roasted over the firepit exclusively for your group.

Cavalry Court has 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space and 141 guest rooms. The hotel’s restaurant and bar, The Canteen, spills out onto an outdoor space of wooden benches around firepits and a swimming pool. Large garage doors roll up when the weather permits.

Texican Court has more than 3,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, as well as the Salt Tequila Bar, which is perfect for group tastings. And when the dinner bell rings, head to the on-site Two Mules Cantina for some delicious Tex Mex. The restaurant has its own beer garden complete with firepits.

The newest property in Valencia Hotel Group’s portfolio is Cotton Court. It opened in September of 2021 and features 165 rooms and a 2,500 square-foot climate-controlled tent on its generous lawn. It also has a 3,000-plus-square foot ballroom and multiple meeting and board rooms. Located just one mile east of Texas Tech University, it has a retro-inspired design that pays homage to the rich history of Lubbock as both an agricultural capitol and a touchstone for live music.
