When approaching Lake Austin Spa Resort on Quinlan Park Road some 30 minutes from downtown Austin and passing through the resort’s front gate, planners likely will feel a weight lift off their shoulders. With views of Lake Austin, mountains, and lush forests, the Texas Hill Country resort sets the stage for melting away worries. JoAnn Lenhardt, general manager of the property, notes, “Everything we do here leans into making people feel more relaxed and comfortable, taken care of, and spoiled. The surroundings and the staff ensure it.”
Texas is itself spoiled with an abundance of spa resorts. Many offer spectacular locations with vibes that contribute to attendees’ general sense of serenity, plus spa services that aid in the journey toward tranquility. They also double as distinctive meeting venues, with some boasting expansive spaces near major cities, and others providing leafy, lush locales for more intimate gatherings tucked into areas enveloped in mellowness.
When convening at these spa resorts, some planners and attendees might opt for group spa sessions, and others might fit in a basalt stone massage or a CBD-infused facial before, after, or during a gathering. A few of the properties have gathering space built into the spas themselves, bathing those gathered in a calming aura, and others offer activity add-ons ranging from championship golf to armadillo racing. It’s important for planners to remember that how attendees feel during and after an event can be decisive in whether they return year after year. If you host at a Texas spa resort, your participants will likely feel happy and content, which is gold for meeting attendees and planners alike.
In the bucolic Texas Hill Country, approximately 14 miles west of downtown San Antonio, the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Villas reopened its updated Windflower Spa in January 2026. The resort also boasts 100,000 square feet of meeting space—plus a 27-hole championship golf course and a water park.
“Our gorgeous and tranquil setting, surrounded by giant oak trees and lush greenery, lends itself to relaxation and serenity,” says Steven J. Smith, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Villas. “[The property’s] Windflower Spa is designed to evoke a sense of calm—from the moment attendees step inside the barn-inspired building to the time they depart, our team has created an atmosphere of tranquility.”
The spa renovation included the addition of a 1,105-square-foot dedicated meeting space with floor-to-ceiling windows. The interior of the spa got a boost from upgraded fixtures, spruced-up decor, and new artwork throughout. The pedicure and manicure stations received a state-of-the-art revamp. Available spa treatments include aromatherapy, exfoliation with body brushing, and rejuvenating massages. Other options range from CBD-infused facials to deluxe pedicure retreats, and, afterward, attendees might choose to gently sway their troubles away in peaceful daybeds amid the stately trees on the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Villas’ 300 acres.
Nearby, the 493-room Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa is just outside downtown Austin and has 76,192 square feet of event space, 4,000 heavily wooded acres, four golf courses, and the full-service Mokara Spa. Carissa Smith, director of sales and marketing at the resort, says, “The Hill Country Pavilion is a favorite for corporate events, with its flexible indoor/outdoor spaces and a spectacular backdrop. It offers an atmosphere that feels memorable and immersive.”

The memorable and immersive spirit of the Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa is imbued in its Mokara Spa, a 13,000-square-foot facility offering restorative massages, fetching nail and hair services, reinvigorating facials, a bracing cold-plunge pool, and a private rooftop pool.
For a more tropical getaway-style ambience, the Margaritaville Beach Resort South Padre Island is the only full-service hotel with a spa on the island and sits along the beach. In addition to 14,000 square feet of meeting space holding up to 300 people in the largest room—plus 200 guest rooms, 40 condos, and a swim-up bar—the resort has expansive views of the Gulf of Mexico, all of its meeting space entirely on its second floor, and rentable cabanas by the pool.
Spa services include massages, facials, manicures and pedicures, Aveda hair services, body treatments, and waxing. Ammar Alrudaini, general manager of the resort, says, “Planners and attendees [often] take in the spa the day after the event, and some also do spa retreats for small groups of up to 10 people.”
Lake Austin Spa Resort has the large Lakefront Spa with 24 treatment rooms and a rejuvenating combination of beautiful natural surroundings and sophisticated elegance. “The resort is special because of our surrounding landscape,” says Lenhardt. “The staff is also a huge part of guest satisfaction. We are friendly, we welcome attendees with open arms, and we make them feel like family.”

The 40-cottage resort is suitable for groups up to 120 people for day use and 80 for overnight guests, assuming double occupancy. The spa offers massages, luxe renewal circuits, body treatments, facials, AquaStretch and other aquatic specialties, Acrely CBD
Collection products, hair and scalp treatments, energy work, meditation, and foot therapies. Notable spa offerings include the MakeUp Master Class focusing on brush techniques and foundation matching, contouring, and achieving a naturally radiant look. The Magnesium Massage mixes hot basalt stones with Swedish massage techniques, which both penetrate deeply into muscles.
When you are ready to step away from the massage table to engage in a little fun camaraderie, the Lake Austin Spa Resort offers activities, including armadillo races, mingling with llamas, and line dancing. Lenhardt adds, “We also work with a boot company that comes in and fits everybody with cowboy boots, so we really lean into the Texas vibe, giving attendees a sense of place.”
At Texas spa resorts, this combination of state-of-the-art meeting amenities, stunning land- and seascapes, distinctive Texas culture, and a tendency to induce guest euphoria empowers meeting and event planners with ample opportunities to craft top-tier event experiences for their attendees.
